At the beginning of my journey, I constantly felt that something was missing, that something was incomplete.
I believed it was natural to be dissatisfied with myself, natural to be unable to feel joy from the depths of my heart.
A sense of lack and discontent sat in a dark corner of my mind like a ruthless hunter, wounding every bird of joy that dared to appear with arrows of criticism and self-blame. It even had its reasons- reasons that seemed perfectly sound and logical.
“Joy is for when everything is good and ideal. With all these flaws and problems, how can one truly be joyful? How can one be content with oneself?”
It took a long time for me to realise what a great mistake it is to postpone living while waiting to become an ideal self.
Being ideal is not a final state; it is movement, it is becoming. Accept yourself as you are—and set out on the path.
Joy lies in acceptance, and wholeness in moving forward.
